At Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, one of the top hospitals in Los Angeles, I worked as a psychotherapist. I developed Behavioral Art Therapy Intervention Programs for Anxiety, ADHD, OCD, Depression and Behavioral Challenges. As a member of the treatment team, I mentored rotating psychiatry residents to use art therapy techniques. I brought and implemented the first Art Trauma Programs to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, where I provided stress reduction techniques using top of the line Art and Mindfulness strategies for highly stressed parents of premature babies. Working in the hospital for 10 years sharpened my skills to avoid misdiagnosis, it trained me to treat individuals in the context of their culture and family’s preferences and needs.
At UCLA Pediatric Pain Management Department, as a member of the consultation team lead by Dr. Zeltzer, a Professor of Pediatrics, Anesthesiology and Psychiatry, I provided art therapy modalities to help children with chronic pain. The therapeutic use of art significantly enhanced my clients' emotional, cognitive, physical, and social well being.
In my private practice, I work with adults, children and their families. I believe that psychotherapy should not be a painful process. I build on my clients’ strengths rather than their shortcoming. To me, treating symptoms is just scratching the surface. Having my clients strengths in mind is my expertise. Trauma work is one of the fundamental branches of my work and I do it with utmost sensitivity to my client's vulnerable parts.
I have 17 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and families overcome a wide range of mental health issues. We specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues.
I believe that everyone has the potential for growth and change, and that therapy can help unlock that potential. I provide a safe and supportive environment where my clients can explore their thoughts and feelings without judgment.
